For Married Women Only

I pray this prayer for my husband every day in my FLY time and encourage you to do the
same and allow God work on the areas of concern or challenge in your marriage. It’s a
bit lengthy, but isn’t your marriage worth it?
A Daily Prayer For Your Husband
Dear Father, I pray for my husband today, that You may surround him with favor as a shield. (Ps.
5:12)
May You open my husband’s ears to hear Your voice; may You open his eyes to see Your guidance:
and may You open his heart to receive Your wisdom. May You Give him a spirit of wisdom and of
revelation in the knowledge of You, and may the eyes of his heart be enlightened so that he may
know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the
saints and what is the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe. (Eph. 1:17-19)
I bind the spirits of rebellion, stubbornness and doublemindedness far from my husband in the name
of Jesus, that he may be free to walk in Your way, and that he may be stable in his ways. (James.
1:8)
I pray that You will give my husband fresh insight and inspiration to do his work and that You will
renew his strength as the eagle’s. (Isa. 40:31)
May you surround my husband with angelic protection in every place he is. (Ps. 91:11)
And may You bring victory to him in every place the sole of his foot treads. (Josh. 1:3)
May You prosper my husband in every task that he puts his hand to and may he Be fruitful in all he
undertakes as he seeks the counsel of wise men and delights and meditates in Your word. (Ps. 1:2)
As my husband delights in You, may You give him the desires of his heart. (Ps. 37:3)
I bind the spirits of pride, spiritual blindness, self-sufficiency and self-righteousness far from my
husband in the name of Jesus, in order that he will give you all the glory for what You are doing in
his life. I bind the spirits of philosophy, deception and religious tradition far from my husband in the
name of Jesus, so that he will not be deluded or pushed off the path that You have chosen for him.
(Col. 2:8)
And so that he may attain all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding,
resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the
treasures Of wisdom and knowledge. (Col. 2:2-3)
May wisdom enter my husband’s heart and knowledge be pleasant to his soul; may discretion guard
him, and understanding watch over him to deliver him from the way of evil. (Prov. 2:10-12)
May my husband trust in You with all his heart, and not lean on his own understanding; may he
acknowledge You in all his ways, and may You make his paths straight. (Prov. 3:5-6)
In the name of Jesus. I also bind the spirits of procrastination, laziness, complacency and foolishness
far from my husband, so that he will not be delayed or diverted from moving ahead with you in the
works that You have already created for him to accomplish.
(Eph. 2:10)
May my husband not be carnally minded, which is death, but may he be spiritually minded, which is
life and peace. (Rom. 8:6)
May he be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that he
may walk in a manner worthy of You, to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work
and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all power according to Your glorious
might for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience: joyously giving thanks to You, who have
qualified us to share in the inheritance of eth saints in light. (Col. 1:9-12)
May You give my husband a deep thirst for Your word and may You give him a strong hunger to
move in the power of the Holy Spirit. Father, I know that You will lead him into all truth by your
Spirit. (John 16:13)
I thank You and praise You and have confidence that since You have begun a good work in my
husband, You will complete it. (Phil. 1:6)
You will cause my husband to excel in all that he puts his hand to, as I trust You to guide him, since
it is not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit. (Zech. 4:6)
Sharpen my husband’s awareness of spiritual things, so that he will be effective in his role as the
spiritual head of our household. (Eph. 5:23)
And help me to submit to his leadership in a way that is pleasing to You. (Col. 3:18)
May our love abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, and may we be filled
with the fruit of righteousness, which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
(Phil. 1:9-11)
May the words of his mouth and the meditations of his heart acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, our
strength and our Redeemer. (Ps. 19:14)
May my husband be slow to anger, and not quick temped. (Prov. 14:29)
And may he have a soothing tongue. (Prov. 15:4)
May you give my husband his heart’s desire, and not withhold the request of his lips.
(Ps. 21:2)
May You give my husband to know Your ways, O Lord, may You teach him your paths, and may You
lead him in Your truth. (Ps. 25:4-5)
May You reveal Your secrets to my husband, and may You make him to know Your covenant. (Ps.
25:14)
May You hide my husband in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man, and
may You keep him secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues. (Ps. 31:20)
When he is tempted, I thank You that You will always provide the way of escape, that he may be
able to endure it. (1 Cor. 10:13)
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Ps. 90:17 And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon my husband and do confirm for him the
work of his hands, yes, confirm the work of his hands!

Prayers For Husbands

Lord, I come to You in praise and thanksgiving for who You are. I will extol You at all times; Your praise will always be on my lips. You are faithful to all Your promises. Thank You, Lord that You are turning the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers this month of June. I pray that HUSBAND as a father has compassion on his children, as the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.

Blessed is my husband who always fears the Lord, but HUSBAND who hardens his heart falls into trouble. Lord, You called HUSBAND to be free. Therefore, do not let sin reign in my husband’s mortal body so that HUSBAND obeys its evil desires. I pray that HUSBAND will not use his freedom to indulge in the sinful nature; rather, HUSBAND will serve others in love. My prayer is that HUSBAND will live by the Spirit, and he will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that HUSBAND does not do what he wants. Guard my husband’s life and rescue HUSBAND let him not be put to shame, for he will take refuge in You. May integrity and uprightness protect my husband, because my hope is in You. From the Lord comes deliverance for HUSBAND May Your blessings be on my husband today. Selah

I am confident of this, that He who began a good work in my husband and our family will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Lord, I have not stopped praying for my beloved husband asking You to fill him up with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Lord, Your Word says that blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But my husband’s delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law HUSBAND meditates day and night. HUSBAND is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever HUSBAND does prospers.

Thank You that You have rescued HUSBAND from the dominion of darkness and You are bringing him into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom he has redemption, the forgiveness of sins. I pray that out of Your glorious riches You may strengthen HUSBAND with power through Your Spirit in his inner being so that Christ may dwell in HUSBAND s heart through faith. I pray that You will make HUSBAND to be made new in the attitude of his mind, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. I pray that HUSBAND as a father will not exasperate his children but instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. I pray that my husband will love me, his wife as he loves himself, and I pray that I will respect my husband.

Let me not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time I will reap a harvest if I do not give up. I am like a woman in childbirth, I cry out, I gasp and pant. Lord, lead HUSBAND who is blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths You will guide them; You will turn the darkness into light before him and make the rough places smooth. These are the things You will do. Thank You that You will not forsake my husband and all my loved ones. Praise your Holy Name. Amen.

Prayer against adultery

pray a hedge about your spouse:

Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my cry, do not be silent at my tears. Put my tears in a bottle, are they not in Thy book? Since I am afflicted and needy, let the Lord be mindful of me. Thou art my help and deliverer. Do not delay, O my God." (From Psalms 56 and 40)

My close friend, _____, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me. For it is not an enemy who reproaches me, then I could bear it, nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me, then I could hide myself from him. But it is _______, a man my equal, my companion and my familiar friend, we who had sweet fellowship together." (Psalms 41 & 55)

Let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous. In the net which they hid, their own foot has been caught. Hold them guilty, O God, by their own devices, let them fall! In the multitude of their transgression thrust them out for they are rebellious against Thee. Let them be appalled because of their shame. All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly dismayed. They shall turn back, they shall suddenly be ashamed. Let me not be put to shame, O Lord, for I call upon Thee. Let the wicked be put to shame, let them be silent. In Thee, O Lord, I have taken refuge. In Thy righteousness deliver me. (Psalms 7, 9 & 31)

Though they intend evil against Thee, and devise a plot, they will not succeed. When my enemies turn back they stumble and perish before Thee. Thou hast blotted out their name forever and ever. The very memory of them has perished. Yet a little while and the wicked man will be no more. And you will look carefully for his place and he will not be there. But the humble will inherit the land and will delight themselves in abundant properity. (From Psalm 21)

"Thou dost surround the righteous with a shield. In peace I will both lie down and sleep. For Thou alone dost make me dwell in safety. Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and call upon Me in the day of trouble. I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me. (From Psalm 4)

"Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in the Lord. Be their shepard also and carry them forever. I would have despaired if I had not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord, in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the Lord. (From Psalm 27)

"For your huband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of Hosts; for the Lord has called you, like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of ones youth when she is rejected, says Your God" (Isaiah 54:5-6)

"I ask You, Father, to rebuke and bind satan in the Name and through the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. I ask you to build a Hedge of Thorns around ______ so that anyone who is interested in him will lose interest immediately and leave. I base my prayer on the command of Your Word which says, "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate" and "Marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral." and, "The husband should fufill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wifes body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husbands body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.", as well as, "Dont you know that you yourselves ae Gods temple and that Gods spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys (defiles) Gods temple, God will destroy him, for Gods temple is sacred, and you are that temple", "The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. By His power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Flee from sexual immorality. All others sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, Who is in you, Whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." Therefore I will block ______ path with thorn bushes, I will wall ________ in so ________ cant find his way. ______ shall chase after his lovers but not catch them. _____ will look for them but not find them, then ____ will say, I will go back to my wife, ____, for I was better off then than now. Therefore I will allure ____, bring ______ into the wilderness, and speak kindly to _____. For I will remove the names of Baals from _____s mouth. Then the Lord said to me, "Go love ______, a (man) yet an adulterer. For this reason a man, _____, will leave his Father and Mother and be united to his wife, _____, and then they, _____ and _____, will become one flesh. Havent you read He replied that at the beginning the creator made them male and female and said "For this reason a man, ______, will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, _____ and the shall become one flesh". So they, _____ and _____, are no longer two but one, therefore what God has joined together let man not separate. I hate divorce, says the Lord thy God of Israel. Husband, ______, love your wife _____ just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy cleansing her, _____, by the washing with water through the Word. In this same way husband, _____, ought to love his wife, ____, as his own body. Drink water from your own cistern, and fresh water from your own well ______. Should your springs be desperesed abroad, streams of water in the streets? Let them be yours alone, and not for strangers with you. Let your fountains be blessed, ____, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, _____. As a loving hind and graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Place ____ like a seal over _____s heart, like a seal on ____s arm, for ______s love for ____ is as strong as death, _____s jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench _____s love for _____, rivers cannot wash it away. If _____ were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned. For though _____ walks in the flesh, _____ does not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of ______s warfare are not of the felsh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of the fortresses. _____ is destroying every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and _____ is taking every thought captive to the obediance of Christ. For I now rejoice, not that ____ were made sorrowful, but that ____ were made sorrowful to the point of repentance, for ____ were made sorrowful according to the will of God, in order that ____ might not suffer loss in anything through us. For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation. but the sorrow of the world produces death. Lord God, Your Word says that if I see a man sin and it is not a sin that leads to death, that I should pray for him and if I pray for him, You will give him life. Father God, in the Name of Jesus and in the Blood of Jesus shed for _____ and I on the cross of Calvary, that both _____ and I accepted as a payment for our ransom, and asked Jesus to take our sins upon Himself so that we may have life, I come before You day and night unceasingly lying my prayer and petitions before You for ______'s life. Bring him out of captivity Lord God, give him life in You, and restore him to his land. Your Word is Your promise to us that hope in You. Please Lord God, do not hide Your face from me, reach down and rescue us from the pit. Keep Your Word Father God, show us Your mighty hand in our marriage circumstance as I do not and will not focus on the circumstance itself, but will focus on You, keeping my eyes upon You Lord, knowing that You will turn our marriage circumstance around, that You, Lord God, will reverse the curse on our marriage! I love You Lord, I thank You with all my heart. You, Lord God, are my first love, my hope, my light in the darkness, my reason for living. For the only thing worth living for has been the blessing of being chosen by You Father God, to be a heir in Your Kingdom, to be called Your child, to know that I am spoken for by You. Preserve my life Lord God, preserve Kevins life, preserve what You have joined together and make it whole in You. I praise Your Holy Name. Lord life me up and set me on the solid rock and I will endlessly sing and dance my praises to You and I will proclaim Your mighty works all the days of my life! I love and thank you Father God..forever and ever, and I ask all in the precious Name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen

RESOLVING CONFLICT GUIDELINES – With Scriptures

Read through each guideline and the corresponding Bible verses and discuss as a married couple if they would be good to use to set boundaries that you can and should live by whenever you encounter points of tension you need to resolve with each other. You can then put together your own guidelines that will best suit your needs.
We will start by praying together for tender hearts and wisdom—committing to come together in a spirit of humility and reconciliation —considering the health of our marriage as more important than our individual interests.
  • Psalm 139:23-24 — Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.
  • Proverbs 2:1-5 — My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
  • Proverbs 3:7 — Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.
  • Proverbs 11:2 — When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
  • Proverbs 16:18 — Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
  • Proverbs 26:12 — Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
  • Philippians 2:3-4 — Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourself. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
  • James 3:17-18 — Wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.
  • 1 Peter 1:13 — Prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
We commit to handle ourselves with maturity —being quick to listen and slow to speak —reaching for the goal of continually trying to better understand each other.
  • James 1:19 — My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
  • Proverbs 1:5 — Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance.
  • Proverbs 10:8 — The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.
  • Proverbs 15:18 — A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel.
  • Proverbs 15:28 — The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.
  • Proverbs 16:23 — A wise man’s heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction.

  • Philippians 4:29 — Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
We won’t allow our discussion to escalate into yelling or name-calling. And we will refrain from provoking each other by delivering “cheap shots” —sarcasm, innuendos, and rudeness which complicates the issues. If that happens we’ll call for a time-out and come back together at an agreed upon time.
  • Proverbs 4:24 — Put away perversity from your mouth keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
  • Proverbs 13:3 — He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.

  • Proverbs 29:11 — A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.
  • 1 Corinthians 13:5 — Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking; it is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrongs.
  • Galatians 5:15 — If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

  • Titus 3:2 — Remind the people to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.
We commit to MEAN what we say —so neither one of us is put into the position of being expected to read the other person’s mind.

  • James 5:12 — Above all, my brothers, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or anything else. Let your “Yes” be yes, and your “No,” no or you will be condemned.
We will stick to the subject on hand —not allowing our discussion to sidetrack onto any other grievance at this time. (Other issues can be dealt with at another time.)
  • Proverbs 4:25-26 — Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you.
  • Proverbs 4:27a — Do not swerve to the right or the left.
  • 1 Peter 4:7 — The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.
We will avoid using “never” and “always” statements —seeking to be accurate, truthful, and realistic in what we say.
  • Proverbs 11:1 — The Lord abhors dishonest scales, but accurate weights are his delight.
  • Proverbs 21:23 — He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.
We will work not to judge each other—but rather seek to express our own feelings over the matter.
We will speak to each other in “I feel” statements (explaining our own perspective) rather than in “you” statements pointed at our spouse accusing them of feelings they may or may not have. (An example of this would be: “I feel lonely when you’re gone so much,” rather than “You never come home.”)
  • Proverbs 15:28 — The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.
  • Matthew 7:1-2 — Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
We will refrain from playing the “blame game”— and will each look for the plank in our own eye—rather than the speck in our spouse’s.
  • Proverbs 16:2 — All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord.
  • Proverbs 21:2 — All a man’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord weighs the heart.

  • Matthew 7:1-5 — Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother; “Let me take the speck out of your eye,” when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
  • 1 Peter 3:8 — Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
We will readily apologize and sincerely ask for forgiveness for whatever way that we have hurt our spouse and for whatever tension we’ve caused in our marital relationship by our behavior.
  • Matthew 5:23 — If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.
  • Matthew 6:14 — For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
  • Luke 17:3-4 — If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, “I repent,” forgive him.
We will work to forgive each other as Christ has forgiven us — never again reminding our spouse of the pain for which we’ve said we’ve forgiven them. And we’ll make daily choices not to dwell on those painful thoughts in the future.

  • 1 Peter 5:16 — Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
We will end our time together in prayer giving thanks for what we’ve learned about our relationship with each other. We will each ask God to bless our spouse and help us to be a blessing to them knowing that is our mission because of our marriage vows.
  • Proverbs 16:3 — Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
  • Philippians 1:9-10 — And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ.

  • Hebrews 13:20 — May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ.

Scripture Prayers for Marriage

•  Lord, please show me how to find the time to store your commands within my mind. As I turn my ear to Your wisdom, help me to apply my heart to doing things YOUR way. I know you are the giver of wisdom; help me to hear what you want me to learn even if I don’t always understand Your ways, or why you allow certain things to happen in my married life. I want to trust you with my whole heart. Please help me. I know that as I trust in You, You have promised me that You will make my paths straight. Thank You. (Based on Proverbs 2:1-6 and Proverbs 3:5-6.)
•  Lord, help me so that “love and faithfulness” never leaves me, no matter what happens within my marriage. Show me how to bind them around my neck and to wear them around the tablet of my heart so they protect me. Help me to guard my heart from the temptations that are all around me. You know my weaknesses, but so does the enemy of my faith. I don’t want to do things that would dishonor You or my marriage vows. I want to be a promise keeper, just as You are a promise keeper.
Give me discernment when temptation is waiting to ambush me. I don’t want to stumble into that which will snare me into sin. Help me to “preserve sound judgment and discernment” and not to let them out of my sight, for I know they will be life for me. I know that “there is a way that seems right” but that it can lead to death. Help me not to go there. For you are my confidence and you are able to keep my foot from being snared. Thank You Lord. (Based on Proverbs 2:11-12, Proverbs 3:3, Proverbs 2:212-26, Proverbs 4:23.)
•  Sometimes I say things I shouldn’t. Help me to “let no unwholesome thing” come from my mouth, but only what is helpful” for building my spouse and children up, rather than tearing them down. I acknowledge that I am not my spouse’s Holy Spirit. That is Your position. I do not want to grieve You, or say things what will cause more damage to my marriage relationship, rather than help it.
I know that the “tongue of the righteous nourishes” and “spreads knowledge.” Help me to “speak the truth in love” when it will benefit the situation rather than contaminate it. I don’t want to be a fool who lacks judgment and speaks in haste. I know that discernment, and the timing, and tone of my words are as important as what I say. Thank You, and help me Lord. (Based on Ephesians 4:15 and Ephesians 4:29, Proverbs 29:20, Proverbs 10:21 and Proverbs 10:32.)
•  Money, Lord, I know that loving it is the “root of all kinds of evil” because it has caused many to wander from the faith and pierced themselves with grief. So I don’t want to place a higher value on it than You know is best or would condone. But sometimes it causes problems in our marriage when our expenses seem to be higher than the money we have available each month. You promise to meet all our needs “according to Your riches in Christ Jesus.” If one of us is spending more than we should, or if we need to look further into how to expand our income, I pray that You will reveal this truth to us and help us to line our lives with Your will.
You tell us not to worry about how our needs will be met. Help me Lord, not to worry and to release those things that I cannot change concerning our finances. I know that as I seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, You will give us the things we truly need. I need Your help in being “content whatever the circumstances.” I know that “I can do all everything through Him who gives me strength.” After all, You own it all, and if You deem that we should have more, it will be done. (Based on 1 Timothy 6:10, Philippians 4:19, Matthew 6:25-34, Philippians 4:11-13, Psalm 136.)
•  Heavenly Father, it is so difficult to forgive my spouse sometimes. But I know that I am not perfect either. I’ve fallen short of Your standards. And yet you love me and even sent Jesus to die for me while “I was yet a sinner.” Help me to be as gracious to my spouse as you are to me. I know that if I forgive my spouse for the things that grieve my heart, and Yours as well, that you will forgive me for the things I have done that I shouldn’t.
I also know that if I refuse to forgive my spouse, it will poison my spirit as it starts as a bitter root defiling not only my marriage, but others I come in contact with. Help me Lord to let go of unforgiveness and to be in the center of Your will for my life. (Based on Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8, Hebrews 12:14-15, Matthew
6:14-15.)
